Okay there are no Doctors here, but here is the collection of goodies to keep your chickens in tiptop condition. Although to be honest they’ll probably work perfectly well without any of them, at least I feel as if I’m doing as much right to begin with as possible.
The Bran/Garlic/Chicken Spice are to be added to their food. The special Bran is to turbo-charge the composting of their poo and to make it smell less. The garlic is also to remove the poo smell from the poo. The Chicken Spice is not a Schwartz herb, but a all-purpose-tonic. If Chickens had pencil’s (and I am reliably informed that they don’t) this’d emboss ‘HB’ onto their plumage.
Haven’t had a chance to use these supplements yet as Mr Omlet filled up the Grub for me during the install sans the extra goodies.
That said the poo doesn’t smell. Whilst emptying the poo trays today I had a good sniff, it didn’t niff at all. Even reaching in and sniffing the poo at close quarters, there is no niff. In case my nasal insensitivities are being brought into question, did I mention that the smell of Stockholm Tar is just fantastic?
The Cider Apple Vinegar is an age old Poultry remedy to keep the chickens plumbing ticking over and to maximise egg production. It’s adding in much moderation to the water. According to the label, ‘Ideal for Salad Dressings, Chicken, Fish and Pork’. Mr Tesco certainly has some foresight!
