Quite a few visitors to our home over the past month have said to us, ‘Is your heating on? It’s nice and warm!’.
The reply to date is, ‘No, it’s not on yet…’
So far we have found that the minimum temperate in the house overnight has been 20°C despite the outside temperate, according to my external thermostat, going down to 9°C.
Our Central Heating is set to activate at 21°C – this may be seen by some as a little excessive – but any colder and our toddlers probably wouldn’t appreciate it, and my wife, the Ice Queen, feels the chill.
This has proven that Cavity Wall insulation, an abundance of loft insulation, and decent double-glazing all contribute to keeping the heat where it should be – inside the home.
