One of our Chickens is Poorly

Monday 16th January 2012 by Steve Mayne

One of our eleven chickens is a little poorly.   They have all done well so far – we’ve had these chickens for a year without incident.

With a what appears to be a engorged crop – and a dribbling and sore botty – our brown ringed chicken has been popped into the dog box and will be spending the night in the garage.

She’s been given a supply of fresh water and pellets – and away from inquisitive pecks from her ‘friends’ hopefully she will pass the blockage and make a recovery.

We’ve seen this happen before with one of our last chickens – nature will take it’s course one way or the other.
