A new restaurant has opened in Cowplain, there is a new Sheriff in Town!
Broncos Steakhouse Cowplain promises ‘Five Star Service with a Smile’ and sells steak ‘challenges’ of 72 ounces. 72 ounces is just over two kilograms – I can’t begin to imagine how big that is.
I took a look at the menu displayed in the window – and based on the contents of that that menu they are pitching themselves against both The Plough and Barleycorn Pub and Red Lounge and Grill. Both the Plough and Red Lounge are located in Cowplain, Red Lounge being a few doors away.
Two other local Cowplain pub/restarants have ‘challenge’ meals available, the Plough, and The WoodPecker – there must be a local demand for Man (or Woman) Vs. Food.
There is the addition of a cartoon character Sheriff in the window on a Bucking Bronco. I did not go inside and am unaware if there is additional ‘Cowboy’ theming inside the restaurant (our favourite ‘Cowboy’ restaurant is the Smith and Western in Chichester, even the waiters and waitresses are dressed in period clothing from ‘The Old West’).
Broncos Cowplain does not have a website, and it does not have a Facebook Page. The owners have set up a ‘person’ page which is incorrect for a business, I contacted the owners on 11th Dec 2013 to advise but they never responded.
The restaurant is open lunchtimes and evenings.
I wish the owners of this new restaurant all the success for the future.
If you’ve eaten here – please let me know what you thought – thank you!
Update 1st March 2014 : We’ve been advised that Broncos has closed down.
