It seems ages since the old bus factory was pulled down and replaced by huge mounds of sand and rubble fenced off with a bright orange fence in anticipation for the new Sainsbury’s store to be built. Perhaps planning had been taking longer than anticipated? Anyway, I noticed this week that work had finally begun. The site of the old recycling centre appears to be a car park for the contractors and there are many diggers and bulldozers busily working on the site.
We can expect to see much change to Waterlooville over the coming months; the old Marconi building has nearly been razed to the ground too.
We believe Sainsburys will be open in November (just in time for Christmas!)
