On our excursion to Waterlooville’s Food and Drink Festival we noticed a few signs regarding more roadworks about to commence on Waterlooville’s roads.
Added to the road works already under way by the new Sainsbury’s store, it looks like Maurepus Way will be subject to them to. This will most probably bring the roads around Waterlooville town centre to a standstill at rush hour!
The recent road resurfacing around the roundabout at the top of Maurepas Way, Hulbert Road and London Road was completed over 3 nights.
The roadworks are most probably due to the construction on the new bridge/walkway over Maurepas Way linking the town centre and retail park. This view will permanently change over the next 10 weeks. I wonder whether the current subway will stay or go?
There are also 2 weeks worth of roadworks on the Curzon Road too.
I think traffic around Waterlooville is only going to worsen over the next couple of months. It might be best to avoid if at all possible? Not good for trade surely?
