Have you heard of the Waterlooville Community Forum?

Friday 29th August 2014 by Steve Mayne

The Waterlooville Community Forum replaces Waterloo North and Waterloo South community boards and its remit covers Waterlooville, the new West of Waterlooville development and part of Horndean. The Waterlooville Community Forum distributes funds for projects such as the London Road resurfacing and re-landscaping in Waterlooville. There are representatives from Hampshire County Council, Havant Borough Council, East Hants District Council and Winchester City Council – as well as of course representatives from the local residents associations, community associations and churches.

Waterlooville Community Forum’s vision is to get people “actively engaged in the decision making processes which shape and influence their lives and the quality of life for their community” and their objective is to “develop and implement a Community Plan for Waterlooville and the A3 Corridor from Widley to Horndean which reflects the wishes and aspirations of local people”.

If you care about Waterlooville I recommend you go along to a meeting and even if you don’t want to provide input – just go along to watch the future of Waterlooville being shaped.

We’ve attached the August 2014 copy of the current Officers and Steering Committee below which outlines the roles of the different participants. For those not used to reading committee charts, “Steering Group Members” help support the direction of the forum’s actions.

In addition, the forum’s constitution (the rules and goals the forum has chosen to follow), is available to download for those that are interested, Waterlooville Forum Constitution.pdf.

I’m afraid to say the Waterlooville Community Forum closed a few years ago. I will pass on your details to David.

      Kind regards,
      Steve
