Red Rose Lounge Waterlooville

Wednesday 19th November 2014 by Steve Mayne

Whilst in Waterlooville earlier in the week I noticed that the former restaurant, Cinnamon which closed earlier in the year has a new sign on the door …

… saying “Under New Management – Red Rose Lounge Opening Soon”.

Hooray – this will return to being a Chinese Restaurant! Oh no it isn’t … it is an Indian Restaurant!

I wonder if this has any connection to the other ‘Red’ restaurants in the area. Anyone know?

Hi Michelle, from the poking around we’ve done … they don’t appear to be linked, but we could be wrong …

Wouldn’t want to comment about the name, but whatever they do they need to change to a font that doesn’t turn my eyeballs inside-out 😲

Lynn – I suspect you meant Chinese, not Christmas Restaurant. But Christmas also works for me. That’s how I roll. So Waterlooville did have two Chinese Restaurants, and over time Peach Garden became Cinnamon (Indian). So we had one Chinese. Winnies closed … we had no Chinese restaurants. Then Winnies re-opened as Jade Garden, we had one. Now Peach Garden/Cinnamon will reopen we’ll have two again! Yay!

They seem to be trying to jump on the success of the Red Lounge, if the food is rubbish people will think it’s part of the ‘Red’ group when it isn’t. Naughty

So, from having no Christmas restaurants we shall have 2?

They probably had the vinyl version of the same music on? I just hope that the Chinese Dragon mosiac that is/was to the left of the entrance gets restored.
