You know how it is…this time of year we all scour the shops and the internet for gifts; something just that little bit different and unusual. I think the hardest people to buy for are my parents. My parents are retired, they have everything they could ever need, but always love to receive a gift that in some way is associated with their grandchildren. We’ve been through the list over the years: calendars with the kids photos on, mugs with the kid’s mugs on, school photos in a frame, tea towels with their drawings on, etc etc. This year we wanted to find something different!
This is where Lisa at FrenzyHouse (an internet business located in Denmead) saved the day. Getting in contact with us through ‘About Waterlooville’, Lisa suggested her latest product: Soundwave Art. Well, this seemed very interesting! FrenzyHouse ‘visualize’ sounds on a print, canvas, wood, a T-shirt and even postcards!
Perhaps you want to visualise the sound from your wedding day at the moment you said “I Do“. Your nickname for a loved one, or your child’s favourite saying. What better of communicating “I Love You“, “Happy Birthday” or perhaps even “Will you Marry Me?” to your partner? The possibilities are endless. It doesn’t stop at spoken words either – perhaps a guitar riff, your favourite line from a song or your pet dog barking or your cat meowing?
We decided that Nanny and Granddad’s unique Christmas present would be their grand children’s names as Soundwave Art. Simple, but thoroughly meaningful to the intended recipients of the gift. We recorded the boys saying their names, and sent the sound-file to Lisa (our boys are 8, 6 and 4 and they got it on the first take). You can also record the sound you want to turn into art via the FrenzyHouse website.

The order process was easy and straightforward. FrenzyHouse asked us what colour to use for the finished print (we chose blue) and we also requested to have the boy’s names written underneath each of their individual ‘voices’.
A few days later the large yet sturdy envelope dropped onto to our doormat:
Cleverly the print size is chosen to fit through standard letter boxes, and here it is – the visual representation of our young boys saying their names!
We popped the print into a frame – we are absolutely delighted! And right now we don’t want to give away the Soundwave … we want to keep it for ourselves!!!
The customer service from Lisa at FrenzyHouse is exemplary. She patiently helped us with our (probably stupid) questions and emailed replies promptly. On-line purchases can often be an isolating experience, this is not one of those occasions.
FrenzyHouses‘ Soundwave Art is only a tiny part of their on-line shop. Their products are numerous; from cool homewares to lifestyle products. They also offer timeless children’s toys, clothes, cushions and some really contemporary and funky stuff. If you’re ever stuck for a gift, then here’s the first place to look for the answer – they have something for EVERYONE!
We’d love to know … have you looked at FrenzyHouse’s website? Did you know they are a local company?
As always, these are our own views and we have not been paid to write this review. If you’d like us to review your product/service please get in touch.
