The 2015 Election is closing fast, and canvassers are knocking on doors up and down the country in order to gain votes.
In his blog post, Councillor Guy Shepherd said he won’t be knocking on doors of those folks who were displaying ‘No Canvassing’ sign.
This got me thinking; what about folks that don’t have a ‘No Canvassers’ sign?
So we’ve put together a printable poster which is downloadable in Adobe PDF format.
We’ve added a term so that if your door does get knocked and you are displaying a poster – the door knocker owes you £10. Before you ask if the £10 legally enforceable, do you put fuel into your car before paying for it? Let us know how you get on with this.
I do need to add that there is little or no point knocking on my door, I’ve already vote by post for the General Election and have already decided who I’ll vote for in the District & County Elections.
So I really don’t want my door knocked (well not without an appointment).
Download and share the poster to save your time, and save the time of canvassers.
All and any political party comments will be deleted, but would love to hear what you think of this idea and how you got on with it.
Candidates do knock on doors and there is nothing wrong with that – it is probably not that much fun for the candidates either – here is a way to save their time and yours.
Do you mean to tell me that candidates still knock on doors? Don’t think any have knocked on mine for about the past five elections!
I would support this. Like you say, it makes it easier for everyone. Some people aren’t interested in politics and there’s no point wasting their time. I will be door knocking from Saturday, after I’ve put all my leaflets out. If anyone in Waterloo ward wants a visit please shout! Kind regards, Tom.
No, you misunderstand me …. I’d welcome them to my doorstep – as long as they’re prepared for an ear-bashing! ð
