Cowplain Play Park Photographs

Monday 8th June 2015 by Steve Mayne

Quick post with photographs of the now complete Cowplain Play Park which is located just off Padnell Road / Cherry Tree Avenue in Cowplain.

There is plenty for children to do and pretty much all age ranges are covered, from 2 to 200 years old. This would be a fab place for a picnic, though if you live a little but further away the nearest public toilets are at Cowplain Shops which is around 5 minutes walk away for small legs and closed on a Sunday. There are external toilets on the outside of the Cowplain Activity Centre building but whenever we have walked past they have been locked.

We put up a quick video of the Cowplain Play Park Zip Wire here plus you can find all of our other posts about this park here.

A few folks have raised concerns that rocks are used as stepping stones, it all looked perfectly safe to me; parents and carers need to take responsibility for their children’s safety.

Our kids thought the park is great and we are pleased to have such a community asset within walking distance.

Now on with the photos!

Just a shame all the bins were overflowing with litter and dog bags and owners were letting their dogs walk all through the park.

It is so much better than what was there before. We could do with a bin on the grass area as the rubbish is hidden and building up. Also make use of the grass area to put a couple of picnic benches there or even just seating for parents. It would be lovely in time if we could put a slide and swings up in that grass area for children older than toddlers as my daughter really misses those two elements of the park.

I agree bex. It feels like they’ve missed out on some of the main park ‘attractions’

Does anyone know what’s being done with the big mound of dirt at the zip wire??

Bex … the mound by the zipwire was initially seeded with grass seed but it looks like the seed didn’t take.

It’s ok Hannah, but very open. Slide & swings are good for them & the tunnel. There is a built in trampoline on the lower part. Have you send the weather for Friday!!! Xx

We went to this park yesterday after I picked the boys up from nursery. They loved it. I do wish it was fenced off though but hey, first world problems! xxx
