The McFlat’s are taking shape in Waterlooville

Thursday 18th June 2015 by Steve Mayne

Those with a long memory will remember that McDonald’s closed down in July 2013 (when McDonald’s leaves your town, you know your town is in trouble). The lower floors of the former McDonald’s building are now home to GrabALaptop and Felthams Hair.

The remainder of the former McDonald’s building is being converted into McFlats by ClouldLiving. The developer is planning to complete these flats this year. In total there will be 15 living spaces plus the commercial units on the ground floor.

The smaller flats start from £140,000, so may attract some first-time-buyers. The flats may also attract landlords that may purchase the units as a Buy-to-Let.

There is more information including layout of the flats on the CloudLiving website.

Atleast they aren’t retirement flats, and homes for first time buyers is exactly what the area needs as we have way to many greedy landlords about

If its like the other cloud living flats they built, right shoddy and ugly. Bit. Like a children fort.

McDonalds leaving can only be a good thing. I don’t think waterlooville should be judged on a **** fast food chain leaving be seen as negative!

I think this is the same company that “converted” the old Raeburn House to flats. Let’s hope they make make a better job of this development, as the afore mentioned was a horrendous bodge job. I know its difficult converting an old building to modern dwellings, but no opening windows?
