The former location of independent music and video retailer Focus Sounds will soon become the new home of a new business. We believe this new business is to be a designer label clothes shop run by the owner of Emberz Fireplaces.
The Focus Sounds sign has been taken down and underneath … (scroll down)
… you can see the outline of the signage from when this was C.H.T. Marshall’s Studio & Gallery.
Charles Herbert Taylor Marshall moved into this very building in around 1937. Marshall was a prolific photographer and thanks to him Waterlooville has many, many fantastic photographs of ‘how it used to be’. This was his studio and shop and it stayed that way until the early 1990’s when the Butler brothers moved in and converted it into the much loved and now missed Focus Sounds.
Unlike the Swiss Cottage just around the corner, this property has been renovated and updated over the years and the building, although old, is still being used. There is also a plaque on the front of the building recognising the work of Mr Marshall.
Long live 250 London Road!
