This afternoon I voted at a local polling station. I normally use a postal vote but I had forgotten to put it in the postbox in time, no matter as the quick guide leaflet said I could hand my postal vote in to a polling station. The polling station wasn’t busy, though I was only there for a minute or so and therefore may not be a objective observation.
If you are eligible to vote there are three ways you can use your vote:
- Vote for your chosen party/representative, have your say in local matters.
- Don’t vote, allow others to decide which politician will represent your ward.
- Spoil the ballot paper, that is tick all the boxes, you’ve used your vote as a protest.
It is up to you whether you vote today, and up to you whether you vote in the future, and if you’ve never voted consider giving it a go as the folks at the polling station are friendly and don’t bite.
