New KFC Drive-thu Restaurant proposed for Bedhampton

Saturday 24th September 2016 by Steve Mayne

A new Kentucky Fried Chicken drive-thu restaurant is currently under planning consideration for Bedhampton. If planning is approved then the new restaurant would be situated on the scrub land between the Bedhampton Asda and the Bedhampton McDonalds drive-thu.

In 2002 Havant Borough Council denied planning permission for a similar scheme ☹😭

You can have your say for or against on the new restaurant via Havant Borough Council’s planning portal but you need to do so before Monday 26th September 2016. At the time of writing there are 3 objections from residents opposed to the new outlet.

A new KFC restaurant would provide local employment and a few extra inches to my waistline 🍗🍟

Bargain Bucket please, nom nom nom!

theres already a McDonald’s there so why not a KFC 👍
The 3 objections must be from McDonald’s workers 😂

Fingers crossed it’ll go through. The objections are regarding litter and additional traffic. No mention of the lovely chickeney goodness inside each bucket. Nom nom nom.

The 2002 application was for Burger King and KFC. The main reason for refusal then was the traffic as the roundabout was due to be improved (not to be confused with the recent changes) and queuing for ASDA car park. Subsequently the roundabout was “improved” and the changes to ASDA car park improved flow which is how Macdonalds was approved

Thank you Nigel for the historical information. Fingers crossed that it goes ahead as you can never have too much deep fried chicken. Nom nom nom.

Can we get rid of the Cowplain one then so we can walk on the pavement safely?

    • About Waterlooville says

      Saturday 24th September 2016 at 10:56

I’d imagine this new KFC Bedhampton Drive-thu would be in direct competition with the Cowplain one? With no hassle of grabbing a space!

There might be one at the BAE site, though I’d imagine Bedhampton would be a considerably more profitable until all those new Berewood houses are built.

Yes you are correct there are plans, though they’ve not yet been submitted, I guess there’s more money to be had at the Bedhampton location until all those new Waterlooville homes have been built? Nom nom nom.
