A new Kentucky Fried Chicken drive-thu restaurant is currently under planning consideration for Bedhampton. If planning is approved then the new restaurant would be situated on the scrub land between the Bedhampton Asda and the Bedhampton McDonalds drive-thu.
In 2002 Havant Borough Council denied planning permission for a similar scheme ☹😭
You can have your say for or against on the new restaurant via Havant Borough Council’s planning portal but you need to do so before Monday 26th September 2016. At the time of writing there are 3 objections from residents opposed to the new outlet.
A new KFC restaurant would provide local employment and a few extra inches to my waistline 🍗🍟
Bargain Bucket please, nom nom nom!

Oh hell yeah ððð
Nom nom nom!
theres already a McDonald’s there so why not a KFC ð
The 3 objections must be from McDonald’s workers ð
Fingers crossed it’ll go through. The objections are regarding litter and additional traffic. No mention of the lovely chickeney goodness inside each bucket. Nom nom nom.
The 2002 application was for Burger King and KFC. The main reason for refusal then was the traffic as the roundabout was due to be improved (not to be confused with the recent changes) and queuing for ASDA car park. Subsequently the roundabout was “improved” and the changes to ASDA car park improved flow which is how Macdonalds was approved
Thank you Nigel for the historical information. Fingers crossed that it goes ahead as you can never have too much deep fried chicken. Nom nom nom.

Yeah I knew about this its just far enough away it shouldn’t affect us with smell but oh my god love kfc lol it’s going where that silver bikes place used to be xx
KFC for breakfast, lunch and dinner Fern? Nom nom nom.
Can we get rid of the Cowplain one then so we can walk on the pavement safely?
I’d imagine this new KFC Bedhampton Drive-thu would be in direct competition with the Cowplain one? With no hassle of grabbing a space!
Great for jobs etc. But isnt that area busy enough??
Yes it’s going to be even busier …
Do the people that apprive this actually live in the area or do they just rub their hands with glee “money money money”
The latter, given we’re in the midst of an unprecedented obesity crisis and an ageing population…

Why always Havant, they should put a drive through in Waterlooville, there is enough in Havant. Create some jobs this side!
There might be one at the BAE site, though I’d imagine Bedhampton would be a considerably more profitable until all those new Berewood houses are built.
They’ve already got one !!!!!!!
Not a drive through we haven’t
About two miles away in Havant !!!
Which Bedhampton is part of
Next to the Asda Kate.
Thought there were plans for Kfc at the Old BAE site ?
Yes you are correct there are plans, though they’ve not yet been submitted, I guess there’s more money to be had at the Bedhampton location until all those new Waterlooville homes have been built? Nom nom nom.
“Restaurant” …..
;)
Really !!! Being told all the time how bad fast food is and yet they still keep building these !
It’s so tasty though … and cheap, and terribly bad for me.
The “chicken in a box” the supermarkets do is actually far less greasy and just as nice.
Glad to see something healthy being built!
Plus you can pick up a McDonald’s at the same time!
Love a mcflurry
Just what I always wanted…
Hi Sue, not a fan of Colonel Sanders? :)
How did you guess? I can’t remember the last time I had KFC – many years ago – but I would probably have said the same if it was for any other fast food outlet… :-)
The one in Havant is a mess
Gosh I remember the little tiny KFC in Cowplain .I think was one of the 1st to open in the UK
Still open, and always edible after a few beers ð
