Sign from the Past – The Plough & Barleycorn

Thursday 6th October 2016 by Steve Mayne

We popped in to Waterlooville’s The Plough & Barleycorn a few of times with the kids over the summer, always good food. I can never choose what to order from the menu as there is so much choice (and all so tempting) I want to try it all. Nom nom nom.

The Plough & Barleycorn was originally owned by the Eldridge Pope Brewery. Eldridge Pope owned the Hunstman Ales brand and in 2007 Eldridge Pope was purchased by Marstons plc for £155m.

Did you know that an original Huntsman Ales and Plough Barleycorn sign from the 80’s can found on a ‘hidden’ side of the pub next to the parade of shops?
