Aren’t all of those shops in that section the subject of a compulsory purchase order?

    • About Waterlooville says

      Thursday 9th February 2017 at 19:01

Hampshire County Council were looking into a compulsory purchase order, though these things take an age.

With the threat of that looming though,I doubt many will want the uncertainty of waiting to see if it would happen.

Put it this way – I wouldn’t be seeking to renew a lease, I’d be taking the opportunity to relocate.

Apparently the rental agreement was over and was too expensive to renew!😔

Yep Kath, though at the time of commenting no plans have been formally submitted, you have to wonder what the owner’s long term plan is after going to the expense of having these drawn up?

    • Jennifer Marie says

      Thursday 9th February 2017 at 19:56

They are also on about building ontop of the clock tower

    • Sarah Harley says

      Thursday 9th February 2017 at 19:56

We’d like a cinema, not more flats! Something to do other than charity shopping and looking for new houses would be lovely!

Such a shame such a wonderful team of volunteers in the Marie Curie shop who have helped me and others many times when looking for dresses and outfits for our themed dance nights – you will be missed X

Thank you for your lovely comment Helen, as a volunteer for 12 years in Marie Curie, I can only say that it was a pleasure to work there, as it was like a big family, and we always had such marvellous customers.

Noone is ever safe from The Curse of Wellington Way 😱😱😱

Nobody has ever been banned for having a different opinion about a story. Not an exhaustive list: people are banned for spamming the page, accusing us/insinuating that we’ve said something that we haven’t, rude private messages and general mischief making.

Another person was banned last night for one of the reasons above. Once banned, that’s it, running this site takes enough time as it is!

Probably because they want to bulldoze it and build yet more huge, ugly blocks of flats. It’s called greed. The whole area is turning into a concrete nightmare.
