Review: KAPOW! Pro Wrestling

Saturday 11th November 2017 by Steve Mayne

On Friday 10th November we went to Park Community School located on Middle Park Way, Leigh Park with some adult friends and an entourage of children to see the KAPOW! (Kreative Alternative Professional Organised Wrestling) Pro Wrestling event.

I haven’t seen live wresting before, though have watched enough of ‘The World of Sport’ on ITV in the 70s with Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks to know what to expect.

The KAPOW Pro Wrestling team put on around 5 or 6 or so different fights, these included one on one, a tag team, and what can only be described as a free-for-all-anything-goes where use of the wrestling ring was totally optional!

If you’ve not been to wrestling before, then I’d recommend you go at least once to experience grown men throwing each other around like puppets. Please don’t think that wrestling is all make believe, a few of the wrestlers ended up with what is best described as ‘minor trauma’ during the course of the evening.

The venue is only a few minutes drive from Waterlooville and there is plenty of free on site parking. The tickets were inexpensive and represented good value for money.

A couple of tips, if you taking children that are sensitive to loud music then you may consider how to keep them comfortable, do take some additional funds to purchase branded merchandise which the wrestlers will sign at the end of the evening.

My children loved the evening and want to go to the next one, can’t say fairer than that!

For details of the next event please see the KAPOW! Wrestling’s website or their Facebook page.

I paid for my own ticket and have NOT receive any remuneration for this review.

Wrestling is like a circus: instead of clowns there are athletes who provides a show.
