Waterlooville’s franchised Post Office has opened

Friday 12th January 2018 by Steve Mayne

Waterlooville’s Crown Post Office located in Wellington Way has closed; a Post Office franchise has opened in the former location of Candy’N’Cards. This franchise as well as offering Post Office services also sells confectionery, cards, and other items.

The Post Office may be gone from Wellington Way but the postboxes remain, for now.

However, I was told today that Royal Mail will not be moving the post boxes to the site of the new premises. It’s too expensive, apparently!!

As soon as a Franchise post office is in place it all goes wrong.. They never have a clue how to do anything just look at all the one stop ones.

They’re not moving the post boxes? Unless Happiness Personified behind the counter takes your letters or small packages that means you’ll have to walk over the road to post your stuff?!?! Sounds about right 🙄🙄🙄🙄

Good luck to it. Post Offices in shops can work – never had a problem at the one in the Crookhorn Lane Co-op. Staff helpful & friendly, and very rarely a queue.

Has this thread become Rate-My-Post-Office? :D We use the PO a lot for sending things and Crookhorn is up there with the best. Posting a lot of stuff, and knowing what each PO are supposed to ask about each package, some employees just can’t be bothered. Sending off 5 letters with proof of posting just winds up one particular ‘operative’ :D

Never had any problems with the one in Co-op Cowplain, unless stuck behind a flea bay seller

Went in yesterday…. waited 20 minutes with only one member of staff on and ended up having to leave for an appointment…. went back today… same one member of staff on the counter and waited ages yet again. Lady was lovely tho!

The staff are really friendly and it’s the same staff as the old PO, so what if we have to wait to post something, like somebody said if you have a fair few things to post, it can be time consuming! Good luck to them!

Good luck to them, they are boosting local community trade in Waterlooville and the staff are the same. The new staff are friendly and stock a good range of products! Royal Mail should do something about moving the post boxes…
