Waterlooville’s The Wellington Pub closed in the spring of 2017, the pub re-opened last week as ‘Number 73 Bar & Kitchen’. The sign on the front of the building acknowledges the building’s former name, a nice gesture. ‘Number 73 Bar and Kitchen’ are on Facebook, their page has some interior shots of the refurbishment.
In the former location of New Look which closed last month, opening very soon in Duke’s Walk, Waterlooville’s very own, The Works … just take my money already!
Our second story for today, at the former location of Goodacres shoe shop in Waterlooville’s The Boulevard Precinct, a new male barbershop is being prepared. Have to say it’s 10 out of 10 from us on the branding, we look forward to seeing the inside of this new venture!
Holland and Barrett are moving from their existing Waterlooville store in Wellington Way to Dukes Walk, Dukes Walk is the shopping area with Waitrose and Wilko. Cowplain’s Sorrento Italian Restaurant has ceased trading. A handwritten notice taped to the outside of the restaurant states, “Sorrento’s no longer trading. Apologise for any inconvenience.”. The scaffolding has been removed from Waterlooville’s The Wellington Pub; this building will contain flats and the ground floor of the former public house will be re-purposed as a wine bar 🍷 and restaurant that will also serve cocktails 🍸. The owner is aiming to open the venue in November – cheers!
